Abstract
The non-destructive analysis of Haji (85 samples) and Sue (20 samples) pottery sherds was done by means of energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence spectrometry, and the results were compared with those obtained by the destructive (powdered and pressed samples) analyses of the same samples. The carbonaceous and natural glaze-like matter attached to the surface of the sherds had significant effects on the data which could be minimized by choosing suitable areas. -- AATA
