A review and discussion of internationally available structures and programmes for training in the field of conservation. These include technical colleges and institutes, universities and university level colleges. Some problem areas are underlined, such as refresher training, basic training and the lack of structures in africa and asia. Suggestions for improvement of the existing situation are made. -- ICCROM
