Describes the restoration of the painted ceilings in the fort of jabrin, a late 17th-century building, located in an oasis in a mountainous semi-desert area in central oman. Restoration included repair and consolidation of the beams, treatment of wood against insects and fungi, and restoration of the painted decoration. Preliminary analysis of paint samples allowed the identification of the original painting technique and materials.
