Abstract
X-ray computed tomography (XCT) was used to estimate the inner structure of a wooden sculpture of a Buddha. Analysis of the tomograms revealed the complicated structure which was composed of several pieces of wood and inserted eyes of rock crystals. The XCT provides information about the details of the sculpture which would not be obtained by x-ray radiography.
