Abstract
This paper describes how the combination of petrological examination and evaluation of the calcium/strontium ratio can be used to characterize the provenance of small marble samples. More than a hundred samples of known origin are analyzed for color distribution, mineral content, grain size, grain boundary shapes, texture and Ca/Sr ratio. See also 14-451 and 16-822. -- AATA
