Abstract
A combination of atomic absorption spectroscopy and neutron activation analysis for the chemical analysis of copper-based alloys is described. The method is intended for use on very small samples and enables up to thirteen elements to be measured. Results obtained by the optimized procedure are compared with reference and laboratory intercomparison values. The possibility of provenancing copper artifacts by means of chemical analysis is discussed.
