Abstract
This annular ring of red glass was found in an Early Bronze Age barrow. Analysis showed it to be an alkaline-lime-silica glass with crystals of oxide giving the sealing-wax red color. Lead was barely detectable. The bead is almost unweathered, and factors influencing the decay of glass are discussed in detail.
