Abstract
Suggests that the combination of chromium, nickel, and vanadium may distinguish clay deposits from different geological ages. Neolithic sherds as well as clay and sediment samples from the settlement of Hüde I on the Dümmer lake in northern Germany were examined by emission spectrography. The chromium, nickel, and vanadium results were used to distinguish clays of various geological formations. -- AATA
