Abstract
Hair, fibers and fur trimmings found on clothes of bog mummies were examined by scanning electron microscopy and in transmittent light. It was found that animal hair from wool and fur could be identified when both cuticula and marrow can be studied. Sheep wool was found exclusively for clothes material. The fur of sheep, goat, and roe deer was used for trimmings. -- AATA
