Abstract
In Milan in 2006, at the 3(rd) Colore e Conservazione Conference, we have returned to the theme of consolidation with “Franciscan†humility (if the Poverello-saint of restoration-permits), without any excessive enthusiasms for new materials, methods, and technological innovations. We simply wanted to take up the lines and broaden the necessary fundamental research, making it become basic knowledge and a means of communication among the persons involved and conservators.
