The movement of water into the stone and out of it strongly influences the mechanism of weathering. After reacting with air pollutants, water causes minerals to dissolve followed by a crystallization of secondary products in otherplaces. Freezing phenomena are also influenced by the movement of water. The pore structure of the stone under discussion also intervenes in these phenomena. -- AATA
