To test the efficiency of stone consolidants the usual ASTM procedures for testing natural stone are applicable with certain limitations. Other criteria are more important for treated stone. Different parameters of stability, the rate of water absorption, resistance to acid rain are the properties which were studied and special methods were developed to test the efficiency of stone consolidants. -- AATA
