Abstract
Several methods of nondestructive activation analysis were developed. These methods, applied to various samples refer to: determination of copper and silver content in ancient gold coins; determination of copper, gold, and lead contents in ancient silver coins; determination of iron, nickel, zinc arsenic, tin, antimony, and lead in ancient copper coins and bronze objects; determination of iron, nickel, and cobalt in iron meteorites; and determination of the weight ratio of nitrogen and fluoride in fossil bones and teeth. The gold and silver coins were irradiated in the external beam of a cyclotron with 30-Mev. protons and 26-Mev. deuterons, respectively. Copper coins and bronze objects were irradiated with fast neutrons, while iron meteorites and fossil bones were activated with high enengy photons. The gamma ray count-rates of the various activities in the irradiated samples wre determined by decay analysis or by gamma -- AATA
