Abstract
The plastic phosphor anticoincidence shielding of a large high quality Ge(Li) diode provides a major improvement in the sensitivity for the measurement of many induced radio-nuclides in activated materials. Interference reductions of eighty fold have been achieved for some radionuclide measurements, and the very practical applicability of this instrumentation to a wide range of neutron activation and other radionuclide mixture analyses has been demonstrated.
