Abstract
This article, the third on the theme, is a succint survey of various groups of icons in Coptic churches and monasteries and their technology. By classifying the bulk of icons in Egypt and by pointing out few case histories, the author gives insight into the complexities of conservation problems concerning them. As each group of icons is made in a special way, they cannot be restored indiscriminately by nonspecialists.
