Some water sensitive objects are not suitable to be treated with water by direct contacting during conservation. Those problems are usually solved with suction tables and humidification chambers, which are not easy to be popularized. This article introduced an easily popularized and more practical substitute technique by using moisture permeable materials in the humidification of water sensitive objects. It also introduced the moisture permeable materials in common use for conservation, its common application schemes, fields and the factors need to be considered.
