Abstract
Photography of daylight fluorescent media is problematic when accurate colour rendition is required. When capturing daylight fluorescent paint under normal photographic conditions, reflected light masks any fluorescence present in the palette. Hinde et al. (2007) found that the fluorescence of daylight fluorescent colourants from the Kremer pigment range can be photographed with a single filter system. It is the aim of this paper, to summarise findings for the Kremer pigment range, present a ‘low tech’ system for photographically recording daylight fluorescent colourants, present findings for the Dayglo pigment range and discuss in-situ application of the selected filter system to two works of art which are presented as case studies.
