Faunal remains constitute an important part of nearly all cultural deposits and their conservation and curation should be an important part of any program of preservation of archaeological collections. Within an integrated context, faunal remains have a very great potential to reflect cultural information, and as this potential is seldom, if ever, exhausted in a single research program, it is imperative that such materials be conserved and curated in a manner which insures and enhances that potential for the future. Because of the diverse nature of faunal material from most sites, questions of collection methodology as well as conservation methodology are relevant to a consideration of the preservation of this class of artifacts. -- AATA
