Abstract
A <i>tondo</i> picturing the representation of the goddess of good luck, Tyche, completes the ceiling of the inner cupola of a temple erected in 1843 in the castle garden of Neustrelitz (Mecklenburg). The painted copper plaque had been badly damaged and poorly restored. During the restoration carried out at present the old overpainting was removed after a preceding investigation and the (original) layer of paint stabilized with Piaflex LSB41 (an acryloid lacquer), hollows filled in with acrylic putty, and the whole retouched with resin oil colors. -- AATA
