Abstract
One hundred and twenty-five Egyptian statuettes from the Late Kingdom (7th-3rd centuries <sub>BC</sub>) were analyzed by atomic-absorption-spectrography. Like the statuettes from the museums of Berlin and Munich, there is the same great variation in the amounts of copper, tin, and lead. Copper varies between 64 and 92 percent, tin between 0 and 14 percent, lead between 0 and 32 percent. An important result of this series of analyses is the observation that comparable objects in different museums have an identical composition. This means that definite alloys were used at certain places for casting bronze statuettes. A connection, already described, between stylistic features and composition was supported by the new data: statuettes of the god Osiris with one hand over the other are rich in tin and copper, but poor in lead; another type with one hand beside the other contains more lead and less tin and copper.
