Abstract
Cutwork involves cutting fabric to make holes on bound edges which are commonly scallops, with techniques including broderie anglaise, Ayrshire, Hedebo, Reticella, Venetian, Richelieu, and Hardanger. Scallops are plain with simple overcasting or buttonholing or fancy with picots or lace stitchery. The plain scallop is flat or padded for a sculptured effect. -- AATA
