Abstract
Yellow oil stains become more difficult to remove with time due to chemical interaction of the unsaturated oils with the fibers during an oxidation process. The autoxidation may be accelerated by the fatty acid composition of the oil, the surface area of the stain, exposure to ultraviolet light and other ionizing radiation, increased oxygen exposure, and the presence of oxidizing metals, including copper and iron, in dyes or soils. -- AATA
