Abstract
Describes the materials and techniques used in developing two six-sided shelters over two adjacent mosaics lying on archaeological ground. Details the placement of the concrete supports, the lengths of the aluminum tubes, the numbers and sizes of the solid aluminum hubs and the steel rods they held, as well as screws, eyebolts, and steel cables with their tensioning systems. Next, the two kinds of textiles used for shelter and their installation are discussed, the first textile being inadequate against the severe stormy winter weather at this seacoast location. The second roof cover was waterproof and overlapping for better protection. This design needs more research for a way to dispose of roof runoff water. The shelter is aesthetically compatible with the archaeological site, not costly in terms of time of erection of materials, and can be dismantled and reused.
