Provides an insight into the relatively small but well-equipped conservation workshop of the archiepiscopal, diocesan, and cathedral library in Cologne, and describes its various facilities, developed during many years of practical experience in book conservation. Notes some of the labor saving measures adopted for daily tasks, often as a result of improvisation.
