Abstract
The author describes the protective measures carried out during the transport of art works to the new museum headquarters of the National Gallery of Canada (Ottawa). Heated, insulated trucks were used to transport paintings wrapped in precleaned soft padded blankets. In this way the paintings were thermally insulated against possible changes in temperature and mechanically protected from accidental shock.
