Restoration work on ancient murals, such as caveman paintings, has involved on-site cleaning, followed by detachment and mounting on a suitable backing. The latter consists of a panel with paper honeycomb core and epoxy glasscloth laminated skins with an intermediate strippable layer of a very thin polystyrene foam sheet. -- AATA
