The effects of weathering and atmospheric pollutants (sulphur dioxide, nitrogen dioxide, ozone and their mixtures) on the physical, chemical and flammability properties of cotton fabrictreated with Pyrovatex 3805 and with tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)phosphonium hydroxide/ ammonia and untreated controls were studied in a 2500W xenon-arc Weather-Ometer with and without light for various times. The presence of name-retardant finishes was found to reduce the degradation of the fabric. -- AATA
