Abstract
This interdisciplinary study of the archaeological evidence in the Ganges Valley refutes the widely accepted hypothesis regarding Aryan migration in India. It reveals how geological factors responsive to surface transformation from Older to Newer alluvium in the post-Pleistocene epoch, brought about total obliteration of any material evidence of protohistoric layers in the Newer alluvium of the Gangetic plain, except in some higher Older alluvium areas, which escaped the effects of intermittent floods. Global climatic conditions were not responsible for this change. -- AATA
