Original text of a manuscript which the Halberstadt doctor of pharmacy, Friedrich Lucanus (1793-1872), submitted to the Royal Academy of the Arts in Berlin in 1832. There follows a negative professional opinion by the Berlin painter, Wilhelm Karl Wach (1787-1845) dating from 1833. This, in turn, is followed by an article written by Lucanus, paint varnish, dating from the year 1842.
