Polyacrylates have been gaining ever greater importance in conservation and restoration work over the last 30 years. The research results presented here refer to experiences with products which are being manufactured in the G.D. R. by the publicly-owned firm <i>Kombinat Chemische Werke Buna-Schkopau</i> under the brand name <i>scopacryl®</i>. Film forming watery dispersions were tested for paint-layer conservation, as prime and mastic coatings, and as adhesives for backings for paintings.
