Abstract
Resonance Raman microspectrometry has been used to selectively observe individual organic components of complex pigment mixtures at different wavelengths. Between PV19 and QAQ (trans-quinacridone and linear trans quinacridone quinone) it is found that no complex exists but rather a series of solid solutions. Samples of pigment suspended in KBr were exposed to the laser over an area of only a few square microns. Visible, infrared and Raman spectra are reproduced.
