Abstract
Neutron activation autoradiography is a recently developed method useful in examining an artist's creative process and the evolution of a painting. The procedure is described, and examples of its use are discussed. The safety of the technique is cited. Its use is limited to facilities where a nuclear reactor is available where the beam of thermal neutrons is large enough to activate the entire painting. See also AATA 19-956 and 19-1584.
