Abstract
In the examination of the Battle of Atlanta cyclorama in Atlanta, Georgia, observations are made by the authors conceming the stresses in the support canvas and their effect on the painted surface. Stress/strain measurements on model fabrics in fixed frame and free frame tests suggest a more complex explanation for canvas behavior in response to changes in temperature and moisture than was previously thought. See AATA 19-956.
