Since 1964 there has been a significant growth in museums in Mexico, and a particular emphasis on museological techniques. Various new and adapted buildings are described illustrating the various approaches taken. Parallel with this has been the development of a new type of collaboration among curators, museologists, and restorers. In the organization of permanent and circulating exhibitions the work of the restorer or conservator is very important in ensuring proper conditions of display and handling.
