Abstract
Review of the conservation and restoration principles followed in ussr in the field of mural paintings. There are two main directions for the restorer's approach: the first is the refusal of any additions or retouches if the paintings are in a reasonable state of conservation. The second is the reconstruction of missing parts if there are disturbing the visual perception of the whole regarding the copy, it is recommended for documentation and conservation tests purposes. -- ICCROM
