The primary ethical consideration is to determinate what nontechnological motivation underlies restoration. The same ideological and social motives lead either to preservation or to destruction: intent and choice of what is to be preserved and the method of preservation lead to the same consequences as technological practices per se. Espoused is a restoration ethic derived from philodophical phenomenology.
