Abstract
The gypsum crusts of some of the most outstanding monuments of Seville, Spain, have been studied. They include the Giralda (a Moorish tower), the Cathedral, and the City Hall. Sulphur-dioxide pollutants, and airborne carbon particles from car emissions are important factors in the formation of these crusts.
