Abstract
Describes a method of removing copper salts and hydroxides from marble using a mixture of poly(vinyl alcohol) ammonia and metabolic cation resin in the form of NH4. The substance has a high enough viscosity to remain on vertical surfaces. A polyvinyl film eventually forms in which copper ions are complexes, and this film can be easily removed without damage to the marble.
