The conformation at surfaces and interfaces of a polar group containing polymers has been shown to vary with the surface energy of the substrate against which the film is formed. A dependence on the solvent and on the initial concentration of polymer is apparent. Testing was undertaken using aluminum as the metal substrate, and polymethyl methacrylate and polystyrene as the adhesives. -- AATA
