In the context of research on the effects of air pollution on materials, a rapid method was developed for testing the resistance of protective and preservation media. It represents a modification of the known crystallization process according to Din 52111, by which quantitative predictions become possible about the behavior of the protective media to be investigated. An explanation of the testing method is given by the study of five protective media for stone by which five different types of natural stone have been treated. -- AATA
