Abstract
The authors characterize the properties of a range of freshly dried polymer dispersions. Preparation of specimens and the artificial aging program -- including natural aging, sunlight aging, aging under fluorescent tubes and thermal aging conditions -- are discussed. Aging performances of the dispersion samples are assessed in terms of changes in weight, color, solubility, tensile mechanical properties, softening response to heat, immersion solubility, and pH.
