Abstract
This study analyzes the manufacture and the history of freehand relief decorations, modeln gepresstes Stuckornament and applique relief brocades, whether continuous or partial, the fatty kind made of wax or the lean kind composed of chalk and glue. Specific treatments for each technique are described: preliminary study, suitable fixatives, approved cleaning products, retouching method and finally the problem of surface treatment.
