Report on the restoration of excavated ceramics using synthetic resins instead of gypsum. A mixture of epoxy resin emulsion, blended chamotte, glass micro-baloon, and a silane coupling agent was tested and its characteristics studied. The hardness and cure time can be controlled, the texture and hardness of potteries can be imitated, the strength and adhesiveness are satisfactory, and the restored parts are easily removed by heating. -- ICCROM
