Abstract
Where there is information on the back of a canvas that must be relined, a transparent relining of glass-fiber and wax-resin should be considered. This has the further advantages of high tensile strength, dimensional stability and durability. However, fiber-glass is sensitive to rubbing, so that the edges of the frame should be protected by metal strips. The method of using a hot-table for transparent relinings is described. A very high strength of adhesion is obtained.
