This research is a contribution to the study on the elaboration techniques of the Valencian wooden altarpieces, which is supported by an analysis of the technical and structural characteristics of a varied group of objects that cover both the gothic and baroque periods. The study allows for an understanding of the technical development in the elaboration of altarpieces as well as the diffusion of such knowledge over four centuries of creation during a period of important changes in their composition models as a consequence of the historical-artistic context.
