Abstract
This article intends to contribute some ideas from the field of aesthetics and apply them to the restoration practice with the aim of uniting these two disciplines which share a common interest in a series of objects that require special attitude and care. Based on examples in interventions, mostly from Valencia historical-artistic cultural heritage, the essential aspects of the object, which the restorer should take in account in any intervention, are herein analysed through aesthetics. Aesthetics can help the restorer to perform an in-depth analysis of the objects when it comes to gaining access to what is being prevented from being known through the information that science can offer, and which is often the genesis of the meaning that these varied objects have for us.
