Abstract
Two recently discovered Italian orphreys display fine embroidery techniques. Silver gilded metal strips were wrapped around a silk core. White linen threads were used to pull these metallic threads through the linen fabric. Thick cotton threads were used to form relief embroideries. These orphreys are similar to the Stuttgart orphreys.
