Abstract
The present condition of the Fountain of Neptune in Gdansk is described. The main factors responsible for the stone deterioration are evaluated. The most important are: mineral salt deposit formation; fouling; destructive action of water on the foundation of the fountain. Results of conservation work performed during 1986-1987 are presented, and the methods applied discussed. -- AATA
