Abstract
An adaptor that permits the use of air-abrasive machines for wet peening operations is described. This adaptor is essentially a pair of nested syringe needles. It is inexpensive and easy to construct. Wet peening has proven to be more effective than dry peening for the removal of certain cohesive, polygranular encrustations from mineral specimens.
