Describes the geographical position and the construction techniques of the monument erected under Sultan Mohammed Ibn Sam; this is 70 meters high and 10 meters in diameter on plan; the surface is characterized by monochrome decorations, fine geometric reliefs, and colored Kufic lettering made of glazed bricks. Survey, provisional protective measures, and structural stabilization project (which will keep the minaret in its present leaning position) are discussed.
